In the south of Spain, in the province of Almeria, stretches out as far as the eye can see a multitude of greenhouses. It appears as a vast "sea of plastic" under which are cultivated a large part of the vegetables of our markets. To think this territory and this specific situation conducive to social tensions, I chose to work with farmers, under the plastic, in the middle of summer, when the fields are at rest and the space emptied. For each photograph, it was necessary to carry out an intervention in which I first asked each farmer to choose a word that he considered to be representative of the intensive farming. Then the word was made and hung in the greenhouse to make a photograph with a large format camara. In this way, these word-objects without roots, is the metaphors of plants growing under the plastic, ans they tell a certain reality and a certain vision of intensive agriculture in the era of our overconsumption society
